Like so many of us, I love to get locked in on something and go down a rabbit hole. Sometimes it’s a reference, a brand, or even a period of time. Interestingly, I think it was the recent investment in the brand that got me looking twice at Daniel Roth. The case shape and style of his quintessential ellipsocurvex aesthetic is just remarkably sexy. I set out this year to buy one — and I have literally just snagged one, and so this is a story for those also curious about the brand and how to contextualise the offerings, both new and old.

Daniel Roth is a rare figure who not only shaped the industry behind the scenes – he also walked out, put his name on the door, and did it again. Twice, arguably. The fact that most people outside serious collecting circles still don’t know who he is should tell you everything about where the opportunity sits right now.
